Customer Vision
For years we had dreamt of having a veranda in our garden so that we could dine and entertain outside, even in poor weather. The other companies that we approached either did not have the technology to give us what we wanted, or, even if they could, did not fully understand our vision.
On meeting with The Glass Room Company we immediately realised that they understood exactly what we were looking for. We really benefitted from their expert advice regarding shading, lighting and heating. We had not considered these aspects before but we were really grateful to be guided through the options. Most of all we felt comfortable because at no point did we feel under any pressure to commit to an order.
The installation went really well and we have to say that the fitters are a great asset to the company.
We have been using our veranda for over 5 months now and it has been wonderful. Adding the lights and heaters even meant that we could entertain there over Christmas.
The design
The Glass Room Company specialises in bespoke products. Mr. and Mrs. Carrington’s veranda was no different. It was a fusion of the client’s vision and our expertise.
One of the central design points was to create way to invert the roof and make it pitch towards the bungalow, rather than away from it. This allowed the veranda to be made bigger, with a generous 5-meter projection out from the bungalow.
To carry the weight of the roof, we designed a matching powder-coated frame with wall mounted brackets that projected out from under the eaves.
Finally, we added roof shade, LED lighting at the front and rear of the roof and heaters at the rear and side. These were all operated via a single LCD remote control.
